“A man is not finished when he is defeated, he’s finished when he quits.” Richard M. Nixon

Hello everyone, it’s Iron Wil and I am back with this week’s quote. Which is “A man is not finished when he is defeated, he’s finished when he quits” Richard M. Nixon. Now, I know that someone is going to have an issue with that, that it’s Nixon. However, here’s the thing, wisdom can be found in many places.

What I really love about this quote, is that is that it tells us right up front that we are only finished when we quit. When we stop putting in effort. When we decide, when we decide we’re done. That quitting … quitting can become a habit. And it can become a pretty bad habit in our lives if we’re not careful.

What I hope that you guys will understand is that you can get to your future, if you’re willing to put in the work. Whatever it is that you desire, if you are willing to put in the work … you can get to that future.

And what I absolutely love about this quote is that Nixon reminds us, reminds us in its own way to keep going to keep moving forward. I recently did a longer video about “The Power of Repetition” which talks about Atomic Habits and it also talks about The Slight Edge. And when we take these principles and these concepts and we do something with them; meaning that we applied those books in our lives. Then we can see some fantastic results. So, what I want you guys to remember is that you’re not finished unless you quit. You’re not defeated unless you quit.

Get after it, go after your goals and dreams. Find somebody who has done what <you want to do>. And see if you can go to work for them, become their mentee, and go after your goals and dreams….

by Lao Tzu, thoughts will lead you to your destiny

good morning.

my friends and followers this is iron wil, and I’m back with another nugget. So, i spent the last couple weeks thinking about what I wanted to say.

and well, what I found is attributed to Lau Tzo; I also know that there’s a European philosopher that has said the same thing, and so I don’t know if they just translated it. I don’t know what the deal is, anyway.

it’s the concept that’s most important to me. “Watch your thoughts, they become your words, watch your words, they become your actions, watch your actions, they become your habits. watch your habits, they become your character. Watch your character, it becomes your destiny.”

And the reason that that is so important to me on a personal level is because I’ve seen it played out in the lives of myself and other people and it really boils down to starting with what Stephen Covey says, “Start with Why”. Nope, Stephen Covey, didn’t say that he said; “Begin with the end in mind”. Simon Sinek said, “Start with Why”.

So, what I want to cover is, begin with the end in mind. Who do you want to be? What do you want your life to be like? What things do you want to see come about?

What is the vision of the world that you want to create and then start working on how to make that a reality. start working on yourself, because ultimately that is how we influence others. it is by our own example that we set, by the example that was set, and the love and the light, that we share with other people.

So, what do you think about? What do you say? What do you do? What are the habits that you’ve created because of that?

So, there are several great books out there, one book that I would recommend that goes along with this is “Atomic Habits”. The other book that I recommend, the “7 Habits of Highly Effective People”.

Which was mentioned in the last Newsletter.

Another book that you can look at is “Launching a Leadership Revolution”. And that whole idea is growing more leaders.

Alright. If you get value from this video, please like and share it. If you are enjoying the newsletter, make share that with someone else. Also. my friends, go and make it a great day. Go and make it a great year.

iron wil out.
